The Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church (MOSC) Lectionary app isessential for the faithful looking for the MOSC Lectionary inelectronic form. It uses actual readings from the Revised StandardVersion (RSV) of the Bible and combines the Orthodox Churchcalendar with readings taken from the Lectionary of the MalankaraOrthodox Syrian Church. Based on the “Veda Vayana Kurupu,”published by the Malankara Orthodox Church Publications in 1987,This app is an ideal teaching tool or reference device for SundaySchool students and those seeking greater knowledge of lectionaryreadings. How it Works: MOSC Lectionary app has two viewingoptions: 1) Calendar view 2) List view. Calendar view provides achurch calendar and the readings. Simply select a date within thecalendar. MOSC lectionary readings can also be selected within agiven month. To move through the calendar, go to a specific datevia the “Select Date” button or use the left and right arrows thatsurround the month and year. With list view, the readings appear asthey would in the official church lectionary book, by scrollingthrough the list. Both options present the readings for itsrespective event. By tapping on the bullet symbol, you may expandor collapse a section. Tapping on any given reading will pull upthat respective reading for viewing. Simply swipe up and down tomove through the reading. Under the calendar option you will findcertain church dates in green. These are fixed dates in our churchcalendar and do not have a specific reading assigned to it. Theyhave been included because of their importance to the church. Thisapp is perfect for those seeking knowledge about MOSCreadings/history or those who simply want to know which reading isfor meant for a particular day.
